It's a New Month!

It's currently 9:45 in the PM and I have 15 minutes to squeeze in a post before night-night time.

My new job has been going great. I never do the same thing each day so it's always something new and keeps me on my toes. I support a high-level investment manager and I know NOTHING about stocks and bonds and investments and whatnot. So my goal within the next couple months is to become a lot more familiar with that stuff so I know what the heck my manager is talking about!

June is shaping up to be a busy month for us. Which is fine by me because that means it will go by quick and that's one quick month closer to finally start house hunting!

We're taking a little break on the whole all-mind-consuming baby thing. It becomes exhausting and right now just might not be in His plan for us to become parents just yet.

Other than that, we've just kind of been cruising along with every day life. Spending time with family and friends. Last weekend we headed up to Lake Tahoe for our friends' wedding and it was beautiful. I fully plan on recapping that.

I've taken a little break from blogging just because life hasn't really permitted me to focus on that for a bit. But, I'm feeling the itch and I keep telling myself that I'm going to miss not being able to look back on our mundane (and maybe sometimes exciting and funny) happenings. And it's a plus if anyone even still reads this thing! ;)

It's a new month and I'm looking forward to really getting back into the groove of things! Blog-wise, health-wise and everything else in between.

Hope you all had a great Memorial Day and you enjoy the weekend ahead.

Kisses,

My ABC's

I thought I'd give a little update via the ABC's.

Almost ten months since we got married! It seems like it's been longer; but at the same time it feels like our wedding was just yesterday.

Being late for work is a pretty big hurdle I'm having to overcome. Yes, I am one of those people that is late to most everything. Judge away. ;)

Cats? I am not a fan of them. But given that my MIL has two of them, they've kind of grown on me. Don't tell anyone though. ;)

Dogs on the other hand? I am a fan.

Every day I wake up in the morning for work, I wish I had gone to bed earlier the night before. And every night I still go to bed late. It's a vicious cycle.

Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy is still an obsession of mine.

Good news was received today. Hopefully, I can share in a couple weeks. It's a big relief for us and has us on the right track for our financial future. Vague much!?

Haven't been watching TV at all lately. I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of good shows at the moment. :-/

I'm finally getting our Canon lens fixed. It's only taken me over six months. Yikes!

Just now getting over a cough that I've had for the past couple weeks. I think it's brought on a case of laryngitis. My voice? It sounds like a man.

Kevin has been playing lots of golf lately. I'll admit, he does look pretty darn handsome in his golf gear. Kind of turns me on. Ha!

Love having a pool at "home." Tonight when I got home from work it was muggy out, so I decided to take a quick dip in the pool. It was so refreshing!

My friend Maygan is 20 weeks! I can't believe her pregnancy is halfway over. She's coming to visit me next month and I can't wait to see her!

Next six weekends are going to be busy ones. All good things though. Wedding, graduation, Father's Day, friends visiting. Good stuff.

OBSESSED with Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" song. Like, a lot.

Poor Kahlua is starting to show her age. She'll be seven this year and her little body is just getting more frail by the month. She likes to sleep all. the. time now too.

Quality time with my parents over the weekend for their Mother's Day visit was much needed.

Really not feeling like starting laundry. It is my nemesis!

Still no Baby Pino.

This post has taken way too much thought than I originally anticipated when I started it.

Unfortunately, I have yet to begin working out even though I signed up for a gym membership a week and a half ago. In my defense, I've been sick so tomorrow is a new day, and hopefully one in which I take advantage of said membership.

Very much looking forward to getting my hair done next week. I have some red highlights (or are they lowlights?) now, but I'm going to go more red. Rebel, I know.

We're going to our first wedding of the season next weekend! I'm so excited to get away for a bit and the fact that it will be in Lake Tahoe makes it that much better!

X does not mark the spot.

Yesterday while at work, all I could think about was being at home in bed. I love my bed. I wish I could get paid to just lay in bed all day. Wait...that came out wrong. Never mind...

Zank you for taking the time to read this if you've gotten this far.

The End.

Time Suck

1. I started my new job on Tuesday and I absolutely LOVE it! The people here are so nice and fun. Everything just feels really comfortable. I'm so glad it worked out.

2. I started and finished the 50 Shades series in three days. I. Am. Obsessed. I'm not going to tell you to go out and read it if I don't know you well, because...it's graphic (sexually), but I thought the characters were great and it had a good storyline. AP from I Love You More Than Carrots wrote a great review about the trilogy that you should check out if you're interested.

3. I'm designing menus/table numbers and a seating chart for a friend's wedding next month. It's taken me some time, but I love the way everything is turning out and I think my friend is happy with the outcome too. :)

So those have been my time sucks lately. I wish there was more time for blogging, but I try and do what I can, when I can.

XOXO,

A Bit of Marching

For babies, that is. ;)

A little over a year ago my best friend, Michelle, was flown in a helicopter to UCSF to have an emergency c-section. Her twin girls arrived quite early and came in at 2lbs 3oz and 3lbs 3oz. Thanks to all of the medical support (and of course lots of prayers!) these precious girls are now, happy, HEALTHY one-year-olds!

I'm joining in on Michelle and Brandon's March for Babies walk on May 19th and I'm raising a bit of money to help in their fundraising efforts. If you feel so inclined to donate to this great cause of improving the health of babies, please do so by clicking on the March of Dimes badge on the left of the screen.

Y'all know I love me some babies so this cause is close to my heart. Any little bit is always appreciated.

Thank you!

Mondays and a Sunburn

Well, it's Monday....

Even though I had a three-day weekend, I am still not a fan of The Monday.

I pretty much did a whole lot of laying-by-the-pool-all-day-and-got-too-much-sun business over the past three days.

I was so sunburned yesterday that I don't think I was thinking straight because I had the bright idea to go to Target and try on clothes and oh my word was my skin BURNING! I was a hot, sweaty mess after leaving that dressing room. Never again.

Kev and I saw Hunger Games on Saturday night. It was pretty good! There were only a couple cheesy parts, but nothing compares to the cheesiness of the Twilight movies, so I'll take it. Ha!

I cooked last night for the first time since living at my MIL's house. I made shredded chicken. Real special, right? I don't know, but since it's not my house I don't really feel like I can be my normal, domestic self and decorate and cook and all that kind of stuff. It's been a little bit of a tough adjustment for me. *sigh*

We're down to my last week of work at my current job! I'm pretty much ready to be done with it. However, I am under no assumption that my next job is going to be any better, in regards to workload and demands. I'm just ready for something different.

I'm thinking about getting a gym membership to a fitness club that is across the street from my new office. I can go work out during my lunch break. Plus, it'll give me something to do. I kind of feel like I have a lot of free time on my hands lately.

Anyone do anything exciting over the weekend? Do tell!

Peace out,

Thoughts on Thursday

1. I'm obsessed with this! I'm lactose intolerant so I don't get to experience the joys of a nice, cold glass of milk at night with dinner. I came across this and thought I'd try it out. It's DEE-LISH! I'm not a huge fan of coconut, but this doesn't have a huge coconut flavor; just kind of a hint of it. Right now I'm drinking the original flavor, but next time I'm going to try out the Vanilla flavor. I'm a fan.

2. Ladies? When you take a shower does your hair come out a lot when you wash it? Mine sure does. I stick it on the wall of the shower so it doesn't go down the drain because I hate having to dig that out when it gets clogged. Then I wipe it with a tissue and throw it away. But I shed like no other!

3. I've spent a lot of money at Old Navy recently. I'm in need of a new wardrobe, and I also needed some new work clothes. Plus, ON has some cute stuff out right now! Here are some things I picked up from there...

4. I've come to the conclusion that white jeans fit a lot smaller than any other type of jean. They just do.

5. Kev started a diet last week and he's already lost over 12 pounds. He's looking pretty good (in my opinion ;) ). I've also started eating a lot healthier and have lost seven pounds. In preparation for his diet he bought a new scale last week. As of this morning it's broken. I knew when I stepped on it that I wasn't 170 pounds (not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just not what I weigh).

6. Here's a pretty tree on my MIL's property. It's my favorite.

7. Tomorrow and through the weekend, temperatures are supposed to reach the 80's! So I made the executive decision to take tomorrow off and relax by the pool all day and get my tan on! I can't really take any days off once I start my new job, so I might as well get one day of R&R in while I can. Don't be jelly. ;)

8. I sure do love these pups!

The end.

An Agenda

First on the Agenda:
Thanks for all of your ovulation-tracking/baby-making tips. Much appreciated! :)

Second on the Agenda:
I got the job I interviewed for! My first day will be May 1st and I'm super excited.

Third on the Agenda:
I need to write about My Agenda versus His Agenda.
I am someone who PLANS everything. I like to know what's going on, when it will go on, where it will go on and who will be there while it's going on. I've come to accept this fault. ;)

When we were planning our move we hoped to be out of our rental by the 1st of February. That did not happen and I was thoroughly disappointed. However, His plan was that we would be out of our rental by the 1st of March. Because of His Agenda we were able to be home with Kevin's Grandpa right before he passed and got to experience that all. Not something I could have planned if I tried.

There was a lot of craziness going on with my job. At first I thought it was secured forever, then it turns out it wasn't, then it turns out it was, but only for a period of time. It totally ate away at my "planning issues" and made me want to gnaw on my shoulder. But...His Agenda was that I'd find a job and within a week I'd be hired - even with a pay increase! Not something I could have planned if I tried.

Our original plan when we moved in with my MIL was to live with her for only a couple months. Now that we're here, we are staying through the Summer because we feel like it will help our house-buying goals that much more. Which it will tremendously! Not something I could have planned if I tried.

We want a baby. It's not happening as quickly as we thought (or as everyone told us it would). My plan is that it would've happened like two months ago. That's not on His Agenda for us. And you know what? I'm okay with that because I feel like whenever it is the right time, it will be so much better than anything I could have planned if I tried.

The end.
