Wordless Wednesday

1. Interesting.
2. This is not my foot, nor is it my shoe.
3. I can only imagine that it would take a sweet forever to get these on.
4. I apologize ahead of time if any of you own these.

The end.

Times Two

This past Friday I got to watch these two cuties! All. By. Myself!

Mikaela and Kesara

Their mamma, Michelle (one of my BFF's) had an appointment to go train someone for an hour, so it worked out for everyone.

Mikaela, relaxing.

Kesara looking cute as can be!

I got some good, quality baby time in - times two. :)

I even got them down for a nap at the same time!

Granted, it was only a 45 minute nap, but I was still pretty proud of myself.

I thought I'd get my baby fix after this.

But nope.

Just makes me want one that much more. Ha!

Look at those cheeks! I just can't get enough!
Carry on.

Miscellany Monday

A. I thought I'd switch it up a bit and post in A, B, C... order instead of 1, 2, 3... order today.

B. Over the weekend Mom and I went to Target and I managed to get out of there spending a lot of money. But that's Target for you, right? ;) I did get some new work clothes and PJ's. I was in desperate need of both.

C. I have been craving Chinese food lately like you wouldn't believe! I had it for lunch last week, then again for dinner on Saturday night. And wouldn't you know? I'm craving it again right this very minute.

D. Being "sick" on Friday was the best decision I've ever made. ;)

E. These two animals are my children (for now).

F. Kevin has been wanting to go see "Cowboys and Aliens" forever and a day. So we're finally going tonight. That just means he has to go see "The Help" with me soon (oh, Mom and I never did see it on Saturday).

G. I've re-decorated our living room. It's much lighter now and I'm pleased. I'll try and remember to post pictures one of these days.

H. There are so many steps to take when it comes to changing your last name. My goodness!

I. My boss-boss informed us all today that we get to leave at 12:00 on Friday. *happy dance*

J. We pretty much have no plans for the three-day weekend coming up. We did, then we didn't. I'm kind of glad now though because I have some preparing to do for Maygan's bachelorette party and I've been itching to clean out our closets in preparation for our yard sale.

K. We've started brushing Kahlua's teeth. She doesn't play with toys or bones so her breath is RANCID. I couldn't take it anymore - and we can't really afford to get them cleaned by the vet right now - so we've started to brush them. Slowly but surely her breath doesn't make me want to vomit. Progress!

L. I *heart* Tylenol PM.

M. I had a nightmare dream that I cut my hair super super short. That right there confirmed that I won't be doing much to it in regards to length after all these weddings are over. I'm liking it long.

N. I was discussing with Maygan today on AIM that I hardly watch TV anymore. Makes me kind of sad. I used to be all about Grey's, Desperate Housewives (the series - not the reality shows), House, Bones, The Practice, etc. I just couldn't keep up with them after a while - even with the DVR. So we had to part ways. :(

O. The blog posts I love to read most are those that are about peoples' everyday lives and randomness. Is that the same for you all? Or do you like reading posts that are really long and in-depth?

P. I've just realized I'll be turning 29 in just a few months. My 30's are approaching more quickly than I thought they would. But I'm ready. Bring it on!

Q. I had a blueberry muffin for b-fast this morning. It wasn't that good.

R. I'm praying for those on the East Coast who've experienced damage from hurricane Irene.

S. I think I'll Stop here because I'm out of miscellanious-ness. Have a good day!

The Crazy In My Head

1. I have been in a nasty (and I mean nasty) mood this week. Lets just say that Mother Nature does not like to be messed with when it comes to switching around birth control pills.

2. I slept a full eight hours last night and felt like a NEW WOMAN when I awoke from my sweet slumber this morning. Needless to say, I'm in a much better mood today.

3. The reason for my incredible sleep is mostly due to the fact that I popped some Tylenol PM last night before bed. I knew it started to take effect when I began talking full-on gibberish to Kevin when I asked him "Do you think I'm a good actor, dad?" When in fact I meant to say "Do you think I'm a good dancer, Kev?" Which reading that now, still doesn't make much sense. Ha!

4. I may or may not be calling in "sick" to work tomorrow. ;)

5. I've been planning BFF Maygan's bachelorette party for the past month and I so wish I could share all my ideas with you. But it is not to be, because Maygan reads this (hi May!) and I want some of the stuff to be a surprise to her. Not to worry though because I plan on taking a lot of pictures!

6. I'd just like to state for the record that frosted strawberry pop-tarts with crunchy peanut butter spread upon them is delicious!

7. I want a baby.

8. I think I'm ready for Fall. Thankfully, the heat hasn't been too unbearable here this year, but I'm ready to start wearing scarves, peacoats and boots.

9. Last weekend I attended my friend Alison's bachelorette party at her family's cabin and it was so fun! We all got a massage (that was heaven) and layed out by the lake for two days. It was so nice to relax and unwind with some girlfriends!

10. I finished reading "The Help" last night and it was so good! I always hate getting to the end of a good book because it feels like I have to say goodbye to all my favorite characters. Mom and I are going to see the movie on Saturday and I've heard it's just as good (which is a relief because I hate when movies and books are drastically different).

The end.

Five on Friday

1) My manager is getting on my last ever-loving nerve. I am not normally a negative person. So when I have to come into work and deal with her, it takes everything I have to just take deep breaths and count to 10.

2) The good news is that it's Friday! I'm leaving work early and heading up to Pine Mountain Lake to partake in some bachelorette festivities for my friend Alison. I'm looking forward to getting some good sun, nice relaxation and girl time!

3) Kevin asks me this morning "Is it weird that I miss your dad? I just like hanging out with him!" Ha! I was laughing so hard when he said that. I also thought it was cute. My dad is pretty fun.

4) I thought that once our wedding was out of the way that I'd be able to get a ton of stuff done around the house. Unfortunately, that hasn't happened yet and it's driving me crazy. Our closet needs to be cleaned out, our bathroom desperately needs some TLC and our garage is a disaster. There just aren't enough hours in the day! And whenever I tell Kevin that his response is "Just wait until we have kids." Thanks, babe. ;)

5) I plan on doing an FYI post about your upcoming wedding if you are getting married. One little piece of FYI I'd give is this: you may want to get your rings sized a smidge larger than what they initially fit you for. Case in point: when I got my rings sized I was at my lowest weight. Post-wedding...I've been eating whatever I want. Needless to say, I'm not as thin as I once was and the rings - they do not want to come off. I plan on getting them re-sized soon, just to be on the safe side.

What are your Five on Friday?

Have a great weekend!

Planning for Life

A few weeks ago I heard through Twitter that Plum District was having a great deal on a voucher for Erin Condren items. At first I had no clue: 1) What the heck Plum District was, and 2) Who this Erin Condren person was. So I checked both out.

First of all, Plum District is very cool! They have some great deals going on all the time. If you have kids, or if you just like to do fun things or try different things, you should check them out. Second of all, Erin Condren has the cutest stuff!

So I ended up getting her Life Planner. Normally, the life planner runs for about $50.00, but with my Plum District voucher and another discount code I had, my total purchase came to a little over $7.00 (a little over $32.00 if you include the $25.00 it cost me to actually purchase the $50.00 voucher)! So overall, I saved about 50%, and I was pleased with that.

I recently received mine in the mail and I'm obsessed!

I love the design. The calendar starts in August of this year and runs all the way through the end of December 2012.

It also has a montly calendar for each month...

A weekly calendar for each week of every month with a section for weekly "goals" and "to-do's"...

A section for notes each month...

All of which I've found extremely helpful.

And what I like most are the cute stickers they give you to put on your calendar! There's all different things like birthdays, weddings, appointments, games, etc.

Also included is a plastic pouch for whatever you want to hold in there, and a little folder thing where you can put stuff in.

All in all - I am a fan.

Here is what our September and October already looks like. Yikes!

And where I've been keeping everything listed and organized for Maygan's bachelorette party that I'm throwing for her next month!

Now, I know a lot of you are probably saying "Why would I buy some expensive planner when I can just use my phone, or make one myself?" And if that's the case - more power to you! But for me, it's working out great and I felt like this would really help Kevin and I when it comes to our busy schedules, bills and stuff like that. Plus, I thought it was a great after-wedding-gift to give myself. Ha! ;)

Monday Mid-Month Meals … aka Mmmm…

The other day I was Pinning and came across this blog that had a great monthly meal plan going on for the month of August.

Since our wedding is now over and we can get back to “normal” life again, I can start cooking and be the Susie-Homemaker that I am not. So I thought I’d give this whole meal planning thing a shot.

However, I’m only going to start with planning for three weeks worth of meals, instead of all five weeks that are in August. Baby steps, my friends.

FRIDAY, AUG. 12th ~ Papa Murphy’s pizza and salad.

SATURDAY, AUG. 13th ~ Kevin BBQ’s tri-tip, Kaysie makes Artichoke Potato Salad.

SUNDAY, AUG. 14th ~ Brunch: Kaysie makes Pioneer Woman’s Cinnamon Baked French Toast. Dinner: Kaysie makes Creamy Chicken Enchiladas and Spanish Rice II. (These enchiladas were so good that when The Husband took his first bite his eyes got huge, he turned to look at me and said [with his mouth full] “Oh my gosh, these are so good.”)

MONDAY, AUG. 15th ~ Leftovers.

TUESDAY, AUG. 16th ~ More leftovers (Kevin’s working long hours Monday and Tuesday this week so it’s kind of up to me to clear the leftovers out of the fridge. Good thing they’re good!)

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 17th ~ Spinach and cheese tortellini with Alfredo sauce and salad.

THURSDAY, AUG. 18th ~ Hawaiian Haystacks.

FRIDAY – SATURDAY ~ Kevin’s on his own with leftovers because I’ll be attending a bachelorette partayyy! :)

SUNDAY, AUG. 21st ~ Kevin BBQs.

MONDAY, AUG. 22nd ~ WW’s Chili-Beef Tacos (I’ll post this recipe next week. It’s really good and filling!)

TUESDAY, AUG. 23rd ~ Leftovers.

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 24th ~ BBQ Chicken Salad.

THURSDAY, AUG. 25th ~ Sweet and Sour Chicken with Fried Rice. (I’ll be using a different Fried Rice recipe than the one included in the Sweet and Sour Chicken recipe.)

FRIDAY – SATURDAY ~ The poor Husband is on his own again because I’ll be attending a bridal shower this weekend.

SUNDAY, AUG. 28th ~ Kevin BBQs.

MONDAY, AUG. 29th ~ Taco Roll.

TUESDAY, AUG. 30th ~ Leftovers.

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 31st ~ Dressed Up Sloppy Joes with Baked Potato.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 1st ~ Leftovers.

If you check out I {heart} Nap Time’s August Menu, you’ll see I didn’t follow it exactly; but she did post some great recipes that I can’t wait to try out!

Here is my question to you all:

If I were to do this once a month – say the 15th of each month – would you all be interested in doing a link-up to share what you’ve been making and/or are planning to make each month so we can all have some new recipes to try out (or maybe fine-tune current recipes)? It doesn’t have to be anything official. Even if you’ve only planned two meals out of the whole month (hey, we do have lives outside of meal planning and cooking!) I still think it’d be fun and worth it. If there’s a big enough interest I’ll definitely do a link-up. Just let me know in the comments! :)

Happily cooking again,

Sleepy Stella

I get such a kick out of how Stella decides to sleep sometimes.

Under the coffee table…Stella 001

Under the blankets… Stella 002Stella 008

In the back seat of the truck…Stella 003

On her back… Stella 009

She was dead asleep in both of these pictures. And when she sleeps like this is when she snores the loudest. Ha!

Stella 004

Lounging out on the patio. On the comfy patio chair. Under the big umbrella… :)

Stella 005

On a cute blanket…Stella 006

Yes, in the suitcase. I think she missed us… Stella 007

She’s not allowed in our bed, but we made an exception this morning since I was changing the sheets anyways, and she got some good snuggle time in with her daddy...

Stella 010

Kahlua was none too thrilled about this new development…Pets 008

Good Stuff

-It feels so good to have our life back! Last night after I got home from work I made dinner, sat on the couch and read, then cleaned the kitchen and was in bed by 10. Those are huge strides for me, considering I lived in our office from the moment I got home from work until I'd go to bed at 12am, before our wedding.

-Speaking of reading, I'm currently reading "The Help" and I cannot put it down. I'm trying to get through it quickly (which hasn't been too hard, ha!) so I can go see the movie because I've been hearing nothing but good things about it. It feels wonderful to get back to reading again!

-I took five days off of work (three before the wedding and two days after). Upon my return to said workplace I was faced with the fact that my co-worker DID NOT cover for me at. all while I was out. To say I was angry on Wednesday when I got into the office and saw my in-box would be a complete understatement. I've always covered for her when she's been out. It's just what we're supposed to do. So I'll be having words with our boss about this - that's for sure.

-I'm wearing an outfit today that is super comfy, but I feel like a bum. I'm wearing jeans that are kind of ripped at the hem and a top that should probably be tucked in but I just don't wanna!

-This weekend we are staying home. PTL! We have to start going through stuff because we want to have a garage sale next month. Tomorrow night we're going to the drive-in for a double feature. And I have to make some returns/exchanges of our wedding gifts.

-I ordered an Erin Condren life planner and I cannot wait until I get it! It'll be so nice to get our life and bills organized and to get monthly meal plans in order.

-I hope you all have a great weekend and thank you so much for all the kind comments about my wedding post yesterday. Y'all are the best!

Xoxo,
Kaysie
