~~~
The Good: I have a feeling some good changes may be happening in our near future. (No, I’m not pregnant.)
The Bad: It’s going to take a lot of adjustment on my part.
The Ugly: I hate change.
The Bad: We have to spend this whole weekend cleaning out every. room. in. our. house.
The Ugly: The rooms are scary, ya’ll. Very scary.
The Good: We got the Wii and the Just Dance 3 game.
The Bad: I don’t get to use it as much as I’d like.
Notes:
This recipe comes from a friend’s mom. I’m sure there are many versions of this out there, but this is the only one I’ve tasted so far and it is dee-licious!
Serves 8-10 people.
Enjoy!
Our dogs are like our children and I think they deserve a little shout-out on this fine Friday.
Last night I had the dogs up on the bed while I was packing and doing laundry. I usually give Stella her bone just to keep her occupied while she’s up there. Well, Kahlua decided it was her turn to try out said bone. Mind you, the thing is the size of Kahlua. But she snagged it and went to town. Stella was a little concerned, but she was a good girl and shared it with Kahlua. Sweet sisters.
Stella was kind enough to help me with my Fantasy Football team last weekend.
And this is pretty much my favorite video of all time. Kahlua tolerates Stella, but lets her know what’s up if Stella gets too close. Only because Stella is like a giant compared to Kahlua and Stella has floppy paws that would come down on her like a ton of bricks should she get too excited. So Kahlua lets her know who’s boss every now and then. On this particular evening they were actually playing.
And because this song popped into my head - and has continued to stay there once I decided on the title for this post - here is your song for Friday.
You’re welcome.
{eight} I’m loving that November and December are shaping up to be very calm months for us.
What are you loving today?
As you all know, Maygan is my BFF and she got married a couple weeks ago on a yacht in Newport Beach! The wedding and the bride were both gor-geous!
Since Maygan had two Matron of Honors (me being one of them) I offered to give my MOH speech at the rehearsal dinner. So that I can document it, I’m going to relay my speech here.
And I also want to document the fact that I wrote said speech approximately 30 minutes prior to the rehearsal dinner because had I written it a month or more in advance, that would have been a month or more of time for me to just worry about the speech, and speaking in front of a group of people (which I do not do) and getting emotional and crying. End result: my plan worked and I breezed through this speech!
October 7, 2011
Hi! My name is Kaysie. I’m Maygan’s Matron of Honor, along with her sister Michelle.
First off, I wanted to thank everyone for being here and taking the time out of your busy schedules to celebrate Maygan and David. I know they feel truly blessed and grateful to have you all here with them.
I met Maygan about 10 years ago in college. Since that time she’s pretty much become my “sister from another mister!” We talk almost every day, we’ve been able to plan our weddings together and everything in between.
And I couldn’t be more excited to have her as my best friend to experience together the rest of what this life has in store for each of us.
If you know Maygan at all, I’m pretty sure you’d agree that she is the most giving, caring and unselfish person – ever. She would drop everything to help family or friends.
She’s that person that you know you could count on for anything. She does and gives for others without ever expecting anything in return.
Now, as you all know, Maygan and David met on Myspace – of all places. When she first told me about David and how they met, I was pretty sketchy, as any friend would be.
But as time went on and I got to know David and I saw how happy Maygan was (the happiest I’ve ever seen her, by the way) I knew that their relationship was definitely meant to be.
Them meeting on Myspace (again, of all places) was definitely something that God had a hand in. Because you can’t find two people, such as Maygan and David, that are more perfect for each other.
David, thank you for caring for my best friend the way she deserves to be cared for. After always doing for others, I couldn’t be more happy and thankful that she has found someone like you to do for her and take care of her.
Now, I’ve only been married for two months so I don’t have a lot of experience or advice when it comes to marriage.
But the one nugget of wisdom I do want to share is that you two are a gift from God to one another. Always try to care for each other because you two are the most precious gifts you’ll ever receive.
So I’d like everyone to raise their glass and toast to my best friend and her amazing man!
Cheers!
Last month a good friend of mine, Alison, got married!
Her wedding was held at some property of family friends of hers and their rustic barn was turned into the reception site. It turned out beautiful!
I was extra excited about her wedding because she asked if I would be her day-of wedding coordinator.
Of course I couldn’t turn down that opportunity. I enjoyed planning our wedding so much and I pretty much love all things wedding, so it was something I definitely looked forward to. Her wedding colors were gray and purple with some green and whites mixed in.
I took a lot of photos (surprise, surprise) because I wanted to make sure to document all the little details.
Alison and her husband were able to put together their own menu for the dinner with the caterer they used and they had this potato dish (I love me some potatoes) that were to die for! She said she was going to give me the recipe, so I’ll be sure to pass it along when she does.
The music was great and the dancing was so much fun!
They had a photo booth there that everyone thoroughly enjoyed and they even had a nacho bar toward the end of the night! How cool is that!? Unfortunately, I already left by then so I wasn’t able to partake, but I sure wish I had stuck around!
It was a beautiful wedding and a beautiful day and we are so happy for Alison and Ken!!!
