A Bunch of Croc

Crocs shoes, that is! You all know these shoes right?

Not the most attractive looking items for your feet, but I've always heard they were super comfortable. A lot of people who had to be on their feet all day (nurses, doctors, those working in a restaurant in the kitchen, etc.) loved wearing them because of their comfort. Then they started coming out with mini Crocs for babies and children and they are ah-dorable!!!

Funny story: I know the guy who helped invent Crocs! About seven years ago when they first started coming out, he told me I could tell him whatever colors I wanted and he'd get them for me for free. Sweet! Too bad I never took him up on that offer, or continued to keep in touch with him because now they have these adorable new styles!!!

My favorite are the Ularoo's. However, they're a little pricey, and I can't decide if I like them in black, grey or purple, so I think I'd want all three colors. Maybe I'll ask for two colors: black for Christmas and grey for my birthday (which is 12/28). And I'll just get the purple on my own when I feel like dropping that kind of cash.

Do you or have you worn a pair of Crocs you like? If so, let me know because I'm really feeling them right now! :)

Weekend Wrap Up

This past Friday felt like the day lasted FOREVER! I literally spent eight hours at work just filing. That's it! That must be why it felt like the day dragged on forever. It was so nice to go to sushi with Kevin afterwards. He wanted us to go out with some friends after dinner but I was just too tired. Usually, on Fridays, after nine hours of work, and two hours of commuting, I am too drained to try and get pretty and be social and go out and drink. So of course I had to be the party-pooper once again and say no. Oh well.

On Saturday I got a ton of stuff done. I finally (after four years!) got my dog registered with Contra Costa County. I know...I'm such a bad dog owner. Haha! But that's over and done with. We really have to get her in to get another round of her shots, but it's just so darn expensive! I feel like if I know what shots she needs, I should be able to find one of those little vet clinics around here and get them done for half the price. So I definitely have to look into that because she shouldn't go much longer without them.

After that little task, I headed over to Kaiser to pick up my prescription (birth control). This is the first time I've used Kaiser because I just switched to them as of the new year. I called and they were able to get my prescription switched from CVS to them, without me having to do anything. I did that about a week and a half ago. So I show up Saturday afternoon, and I walk up to the counter and apparently they will only hold a prescription for seven days. So the lady tells me to sit and wait and they should have it ready for me in about 10 minutes. So 20 minutes go by and I get called up to the counter and apparently they're completely out of my prescription. REALLY?! It took them 20 minutes to figure that out!? Grrr! So then they say they'll call the Walnut Creek location and see if they have my prescription in stock. So I wait another 15 minutes for them to tell me that Walnut Creek doesn't have it either. I was sooo pissed! So this means the earliest I can get my pills is on Monday. Which means that's three days without taking a pill, and I have to start a whole new pack over again. Which mean I have to start my period this week, wait to take the pill until next Sunday, and be extra careful if Kevin and I want to get "romantic." LOL! Needless to say that girl at the pharmacy knew I was NOT happy. I almost started to cry! Who wants to start another period two weeks in a row!? Not only that, but my food cravings start to kick in full-force and my hormones just get completely crazy. Poor Kevin is going to have to deal with a bitch for another week.

So after that, I was in a rotten mood. I headed over to FedEx to fax some dog info to the County for Kahlua's license. And of course the two people in front of me acted like they've never even seen a fax in their entire life and spent 25 minutes trying to figure out how to use it. *sigh* Once it was finally my turn, I faxed my stuff with no problems (imagine that!) and then I headed over to Target to do a little shopping. I haven't shopped for clothes in probably two years! I've been on a pretty strict budget since I took a big pay cut when I moved to the Bay Area and started working for Wells Fargo. So I've had to keep the clothes shopping to a minimum. But I was in a desperate need for some long-sleeve shirts, a couple sweaters, and a couple pairs of skinny jeans. And I know it's Target, and it's not a "fashionable" place to shop, but it's what I can afford and I can usually find some cute things there, so it'll have to do. Thank goodness I had luck there, so that turned my mood around right away. From there I headed to Walnut Creek to hit up the Bare Minerals store so I could stock up on some concealer and eyebrow color, then headed to Safeway to get a few things for dinner that night. Once I got home Kevin made chicken tacos, salsa and margaritas. So the night ended well.

Today (Sunday) we met up with some friends at this restaurant/bar called Magoo's in Pleasant Hill to watch the games. It was a pretty nice bar, so Kevin and I decided that will be our new place to go for drinks. There aren't any places like that in Concord, and Magoo's has a good atmosphere. The group we hung out with was really fun too. So we had lunch there, some beers then headed home and finished watching the Saints game. Oh, and I'm super stoked the Saint's won BTW. And no, I'm not a Saints fan just because they're heading to the Super Bowl. I've been a Saints fan for a while now -- mostly because I think Reggie Bush is incredibly HOT! Real great reason to be a fan of a football team right?? LOL! ;) but anyways, I was glad they won. We still don't know what we're doing for the Super Bowl, so I think we'll just play that by ear. It sucks because since Super Bowl is on a Sunday, it's not like you can really get crazy and celebrate because you have to go to work the next day. It's definitely not like college, where you can party all day/night and wake up hungover and hobble to class the next day. Ugh!

So that was my weekend. Nothing too exciting. A major disappointment with the birth control situation, but a super success with shopping, hanging out with friends, eating good food and my football team winning the NFC Championship.
