Trip to LA - Day 2

My second day in Los Angeles, I slept in until 11am! I can't remember the last time I've done that. There is good reason though, and that has to do with the unbelievable comfortableness of Maygan's bed. I wish I could've taken her bed and pillows home with me on the plane!

Our first stop was to go back to the dress store so Maygan's mom and Alana could see Maygan in her new dress. They loved it just as much as Maygan's sister and I did the first time. Maygan also found a perfect veil on the second day. In addition! We also found our bridesmaid dresses! And again, at such a great price! I really can't believe how smoothly everything is going for Maygan's wedding. It's really no surprise though because she's a very laid back type of person and just goes with the flow, and everything is just flowing right along :)

We had some lunch, then headed back home to rest up for our big night on the town. We decided to hit up Sgt. Pepper's Dueling Piano Cafe in Long Beach, and can I just say, that it did not disappoint! (Amy, you would love this place!) It was SO. MUCH. FUN! I haven't had that much fun on a night out in a very long time. If you're ever in that area, I highly recommend you check it out. The pianists literally knew any and every song that people requested. We were all singing and dancing our little hearts out! Here are some pictures from our fun night...

We were all rocking some very fierce heels that night! ;)

Chocolate cake shots. They didn't seem so great the next morning with I woke up with a POUNDING headache.

Alana and her friend Sigrid who met up with us later that night.

Love my girls!

I *heart* my Bestie!

Maygan and Sigrid rocking out together. Ha!

We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! I think at this point they were playing "Living On A Prayer" by Bon Jovi. Pretty much a pre-requisite night-out song!

We didn't end up getting home until 2am! I felt way too old to be staying up that late, and my body definitely felt old the next morning when I had to get up and get ready to head to the airport.

Needless to say, it was an amazing trip and I can't wait to go visit again!

Trip to LA - Day 1

Well! That was nice little bloggy break! I got back from LA on Sunday afternoon and I don't think I recovered from that trip until last night, when I had to start packing for another trip away from home for the Labor Day weekend coming up. Let's just say that I couldn't be more happy that the next couple weekends I don't have anything to do but just rest. Our poor house and garden have been so neglected since we've been gone practically every weekend for the past month and a half.

Anyhoo, as I said, last weekend I visited a couple of my besties in Los Angeles. It was such a fun girls weekend! There was a lot of eating, drinking and shopping to be had that weekend.

The night of my arrival Alana, Maygan and I just vegged out on the couch, gossiped and enjoyed wine (Alana and Maygan) and champagne (my personal favorite). It was so great to have some good, girl convos!

My first full day there we had a lot to do. We HAD to go see the new baby. Kyra is absolutely adorable, and so PRETTY! I just couldn't get enough of her. I went a little overboard with the picture-taking of this tiny person, but I couldn't help myself. These are just a few of the pictures I took. I don't want to put ya'll in baby overload ;)

Kyra and her Auntie M (aka Maygan)

I sat with her in the back seat during our shopping excursion and I probably took no less than 50 photos of the poor thing. Ha!

The flash was a little too much for her.

Our first stop that day was for Kyra's five-week appointment. There was a mix up with insurance though, so she didn't end up getting her shots. Which is a blessing in disguise because I think I would've probably cried once she was poked.

Snoozing away after the uneventful doctor's visit.

Our next stop was dress shopping for Maygan's wedding dress! I've never been wedding dress shopping before and let me tell you: it was so much fun! Maygan had about five dresses lined up to try on and she found HER DRESS on the second one! It was amazing, and she looked absolutely amazing in it!

Maygan perusing a catalogue to pick some dresses to try on.

Waiting to say 'yes to the dress!'

So the second dress she tried on was the dress (as I just mentioned), and to make things even better, she got is at such an amazing price! Since it best not to show her whole dress, Maygan gave me permission to share little tid-bit of her dress for your viewing pleasure...

Trust me, it's so beautiful!

After Maygan's successful dress shopping excursion, we made a couple stops at two different Ross's (in which I found a pair of shoes at each store that I just had to have) and we finally headed back to Maygan's house where we met up with Alana and made a great taco salad for dinner. The rest of the night we watched two movies with Ryan Reynolds in it. We all have a pretty big crush on him. Such a gorgeous man!

I'll be posting tomorrow about day two of my LA trip. Hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend!!!
