Wedding on a Mountaintop

A few weeks ago Kevin and I went to our friends', Bryan and Christina, wedding in Lake Tahoe. We decided to make a trip of it and had a nice four-day weekend up there and rented a condo. The wedding was on Sunday of Memorial weekend, so we were able to have two full days to do our thing, then enjoy the wedding, recover and head home the next day.

We had a great view from our condo. It snowed Friday and Saturday.

I got some great photos one day when the snow let up!

I think this is such a great photo of Kev.

As you can tell, I finally got the lens of our camera fixed. Therefore, I took a ton of photos of the wedding. I'll try and choose just a handful to share.
The only photo of us from the whole weekend. Ha!
In order to get to the wedding site, everyone had to take a gondola ride up to the top of Heavenly Mountain.

I loved the centerpieces!

Christina, the beautiful bride.
Her dress and train were incredible!
Mr. and Mrs. Sosa!
The picture-taking task kind of diminished after the ceremony because I drank a little too much after that point. Hee hee!

We had such a nice mini-vacay and were so glad we could help celebrate Bryan and Christina's big day!

Breanna's Beautiful Day!

November 4, 2011
Today I am so very thankful for my dogs! I know, they are just dogs, but they're like our children. I got Kahlua when I graduated from college in 2005. Granted, I paid an arm and a leg for her, but she was my perfect little companion - and still is. When Kevin and I broke up for about nine months a few years ago, she was right there by my side and it was nice to have her around for company. Then when Stella showed up on our doorstep (literally) she wasn't something we expected, but she's been so much fun to have around. Kevin calls her a "Fruit Cake" because she is just so darn goofy! Love our pups!

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of being a part of my friend, Breanna's, wedding. The wedding was beautiful. It suited her and her new hubby (who's name also happens to be Kevin) so perfectly. She had really great ideas that she used throughout her wedding.

One that I loved was she used succulents as the favors and place cards holders. Now that is a favor I would take home!

How cute are these!?
Her colors were gray and purple. She let us bridesmaids pick out our own dress as long as they were gray, strapless and came to around our knees. I thought that all of our dresses coordinated so well! It was neat because each of us had a dress that fit our personality. She also made each of us a wire hanger that had our name on it. :)

Speaking of dresses...Breanna's dress was gorgeous and unique!

And of course, she made a gorgeous bride!

And how awesome were her shoes!?!?!

And you know what else was a big plus about her wedding? We got to sit at a table with friends from high school. It was so great to catch up with them all, and I was really glad Kevin was able to meet friends of mine that he hadn't met yet.

Me with Michelle (and one of her twins)

The Hubs and myself

Michelle and her hubby - with their twins! The girls did so good throughout the entire wedding; they hardly made a peep. I love how they're sleeping the same way!

Photo op with the happy couple.

Rachel (a friend from high school and also a bridesmaid in the wedding) with her sweet little girl, Avery. Avery was tuckered out from her Flower Girl duties!
And here are some photos from the photographer's website. I love how they turned out!

I love, love!

A Wedding and a Boat

297529_10100150934303305_6404503_46626307_870650932_n

As you all know, Maygan is my BFF and she got married a couple weeks ago on a yacht in Newport Beach! The wedding and the bride were both gor-geous!

Since Maygan had two Matron of Honors (me being one of them) I offered to give my MOH speech at the rehearsal dinner. So that I can document it, I’m going to relay my speech here. Smile

And I also want to document the fact that I wrote said speech approximately 30 minutes prior to the rehearsal dinner because had I written it a month or more in advance, that would have been a month or more of time for me to just worry about the speech, and speaking in front of a group of people (which I do not do) and getting emotional and crying. End result: my plan worked and I breezed through this speech!

October 7, 2011

Hi! My name is Kaysie. I’m Maygan’s Matron of Honor, along with her sister Michelle.

First off, I wanted to thank everyone for being here and taking the time out of your busy schedules to celebrate Maygan and David. I know they feel truly blessed and grateful to have you all here with them.

I met Maygan about 10 years ago in college. Since that time she’s pretty much become my “sister from another mister!” We talk almost every day, we’ve been able to plan our weddings together and everything in between.

311028_10100150931783355_6404503_46626257_447578473_n

And I couldn’t be more excited to have her as my best friend to experience together the rest of what this life has in store for each of us.

If you know Maygan at all, I’m pretty sure you’d agree that she is the most giving, caring and unselfish person – ever. She would drop everything to help family or friends.

293540_10100150935930045_6404503_46626350_33695927_n

She’s that person that you know you could count on for anything. She does and gives for others without ever expecting anything in return.

Now, as you all know, Maygan and David met on Myspace – of all places. When she first told me about David and how they met, I was pretty sketchy, as any friend would be.

But as time went on and I got to know David and I saw how happy Maygan was (the happiest I’ve ever seen her, by the way) I knew that their relationship was definitely meant to be.

Them meeting on Myspace (again, of all places) was definitely something that God had a hand in. Because you can’t find two people, such as Maygan and David, that are more perfect for each other.

296972_10100150937511875_6404503_46626385_1031476098_n

David, thank you for caring for my best friend the way she deserves to be cared for. After always doing for others, I couldn’t be more happy and thankful that she has found someone like you to do for her and take care of her.

298983_10100150937267365_6404503_46626377_1771350764_n

Now, I’ve only been married for two months so I don’t have a lot of experience or advice when it comes to marriage.

299668_10100150936543815_6404503_46626363_191616104_n

But the one nugget of wisdom I do want to share is that you two are a gift from God to one another. Always try to care for each other because you two are the most precious gifts you’ll ever receive.

310591_10100150937586725_6404503_46626387_315292733_n

So I’d like everyone to raise their glass and toast to my best friend and her amazing man!

Cheers!
