As you all know, Maygan is my BFF and she got married a couple weeks ago on a yacht in Newport Beach! The wedding and the bride were both gor-geous!

Since Maygan had two Matron of Honors (me being one of them) I offered to give my MOH speech at the rehearsal dinner. So that I can document it, I’m going to relay my speech here.

And I also want to document the fact that I wrote said speech approximately 30 minutes prior to the rehearsal dinner because had I written it a month or more in advance, that would have been a month or more of time for me to just worry about the speech, and speaking in front of a group of people (which I do not do) and getting emotional and crying. End result: my plan worked and I breezed through this speech!

Hi! My name is Kaysie. I’m Maygan’s Matron of Honor, along with her sister Michelle.

First off, I wanted to thank everyone for being here and taking the time out of your busy schedules to celebrate Maygan and David. I know they feel truly blessed and grateful to have you all here with them.

I met Maygan about 10 years ago in college. Since that time she’s pretty much become my “sister from another mister!” We talk almost every day, we’ve been able to plan our weddings together and everything in between.

And I couldn’t be more excited to have her as my best friend to experience together the rest of what this life has in store for each of us.

If you know Maygan at all, I’m pretty sure you’d agree that she is the most giving, caring and unselfish person – ever. She would drop everything to help family or friends.

She’s that person that you know you could count on for anything. She does and gives for others without ever expecting anything in return.

Now, as you all know, Maygan and David met on Myspace – of all places. When she first told me about David and how they met, I was pretty sketchy, as any friend would be.

But as time went on and I got to know David and I saw how happy Maygan was (the happiest I’ve ever seen her, by the way) I knew that their relationship was definitely meant to be.

Them meeting on Myspace (again, of all places) was definitely something that God had a hand in. Because you can’t find two people, such as Maygan and David, that are more perfect for each other.

David, thank you for caring for my best friend the way she deserves to be cared for. After always doing for others, I couldn’t be more happy and thankful that she has found someone like you to do for her and take care of her.

Now, I’ve only been married for two months so I don’t have a lot of experience or advice when it comes to marriage.

But the one nugget of wisdom I do want to share is that you two are a gift from God to one another. Always try to care for each other because you two are the most precious gifts you’ll ever receive.

So I’d like everyone to raise their glass and toast to my best friend and her amazing man!
Cheers!
