Full Circle

I love when things come full circle, dont you?

Three years ago today I started working for the company I'm at now.

On Sunday (August 7th) Kevin and I will have been living together for three years.

I remember when we moved in together how incredibly excited I was that we were actually living together (sidenote: I know living together out of wedlock is not everyone's cup of tea, but it has worked well for us :)). That we actually took that next big step. Of course, the excitement soon wore off once reality set in. Ha! Eventually, I was ready for that next big step of marriage. Kevin on the other hand - was still getting used to living together - I think. He eventually came to his senses though. ;)

And here we are; almost three years to the day and we'll be getting married on August 6th. I have dreamt of this day forever. Yet, I could've never dreamed of it working out as perfectly as it did.

God has amazing plans. I need to remember that He's got this and His plans will be way better than anything I try to push or plan on my own.

Filler

I need to post a quick update so I can look back on this time in my life and remember all that is going on. Because the truth of the matter is, there's a TON going on and I can hardly remember what I wore yesterday, let alone what has been going on lately.

I've made all the reception and ceremony decorations. I think they turned our really nice! At this point I think I'll just wait to post pictures of everything until the wedding. That way we all get the full effect. ;)

Today (July 29th) marks one month since Stella waltzed into our lives. She fits right in! Kahlua is slowly but surely coming to the realization that this goofy dog isn't going anywhere and she's adapting. We love our "kids!"

Last weekend was the first weekend that both Kev and I were home. Together. On a weekend. In two months. And it was glorious! We got caught up on a lot of chores around the house, we made good dinners and watched movies. It was much needed.

As for the wedding (considering it's about ONE WEEK away now)... I'm nervous. I get so nervous when I think about standing in front of everyone and people looking at me. My palms are sweaty right now just thinking about it! It's weird, I know, but I can't help it.

Wanna know what's making me even more nervous? I went to my final fitting last night and my dress was TIGHT! I was definitely freaking out (on the inside). And I started sweating because I was so flustered. It wasn't the best final fitting experience. Sooo...I'm on a major healthy kick for the next eight days. LOTS of vegetables, chicken and fruit. And I'm probably going to do a cleanse this weekend just to get rid of all the bad toxins in my body and start this wedding week off right! It probably seems extreme, but I want to feel 100% comfortable on our wedding day, so I just have to do what I have to do.

I hope y'all enjoy your weekend! Can you believe that the summer is almost over!? It's going by way too fast.

Xoxo,
~Kaysie

Thoughts on Thursday

• I forgot to eat dinner twice this week. Who does that!? Don't worry though. I made up for that with the chips and dip I seem to inhale upon coming home from work. Not the best wedding diet.

• Mom has a booth at the California Rodeo in Salinas to sell her jewelry this week. I was supposed to go down there to help her this weekend but had to back out because I just have too much to do before the wedding. Pretty sure i feel like the worst daughter ever. :(

• On Tuesday I spent TWO. HOURS at the vet with both dogs. Kahlua was really sick and Stella needed to get a vaccine in order for us to board her at a kennel over the wedding weekend. Kahlua ended up having some sort of internal bacteria thing going on so she got antibiotics for that and is doing much better. And of course Stella is her silly self as always. :)

• I've had an astigmatism in my right eye for about a year or so but boy is it getting worse! Pretty sure I'm going to have to get that taken care of ASAP because my left eye is getting kind of tired of overcompensating. It told me so. ;)

• My bachelorette party last weekend was SO MUCH FUN! I'm pretty sure it was one of the best weekends of my life!

• My friend Erica is currently in the process of birthing her first child right now. I can't wait for her sweet girl to get here! Luckily, they live fairly close so I can go see her soon! Lets all send good vibes and prayers her way that everything goes smoothly. :)

• I wonder if I can double-up on my happy pills these next two weeks? It seems as though the cray cray and stress are trying to get the best of me lately. Ha!

• Pretty sure I'm getting a BLT for lunch today.

The end.

Updates!

Whew! Things have been cray cray! I have a ton to update on but wanted to update y'all on these couple things right now.

NUMBER 1:
My mom has just opened her own Etsy store (Designs By Lolly)! She has some great jewelry that she's made so I think you should really check it out. :)

NUMBER 2:
My friend Jenn has started a blog (Mommy's Controlled Chaos)! I'm so thrilled about this. She's mom to an adorable 2 1/2 year old and Jenn is due to give birth to their second daughter any day now. I think you should really check out her blog as well.

Hope everyone is have a great week! Mine has been a tad ton stressful, but it's just a season of life so I can deal with it (for now). ;)

Last Fling Before the Ring!

Today I am heading up to Sonoma to meet my girlfriends and celebrate my bachelorette party! I am so excited!

Maygan is my MOH (as you know), and she has put so much time and effort into planning this. It's been kind of nice not having to plan something and have it planned for me. :) She always has great ideas and I know it's going to be so awesome. I just hope that when I plan hers that it will end up being just as nice! ;)

Tomorrow, the girls and I will be heading out in a limo to partake in some wine tasting getting drunk. We're most likely not going to any clubs or anything like that. Mostly because 1) I doubt there are clubs in Sonoma; and 2) I'm tired. I want a relaxing weekend with my girls. I'll leave the clubbing and major partying up to Kevin and his friends since he's enjoying his bachelor party this weekend in Lake Tahoe (I try not to think about it - ha!).

I will be back with an arsenal full of PICTURES! So be prepared.

Hope y'all have a great weekend!

XOXO,

Fun Finds

A few weeks ago I stopped by one of our local thrift stores and came home with some great finds!

Finds 001

First off, I’d just like to state for the record that I love silver! So whenever I see something silver that catches my eye, I have to snatch it up (if it’s not expensive, of course). Granted, I have no where in our house to really display my silver finds, but I like it nonetheless. :)

 Finds 002

Like this cute little silver tray with the great design on it.

 Finds 004

And I am head over heels IN. LOVE with this silver teapot. Isn’t it so pretty!? It’s quite heavy too.

Finds 005 I found some brooches (fore cheap!) that I’ll be using for a project I’m working on for the wedding.

Finds 006

Another silver baby spoon to add to my collection. :)

 Finds 007

I got a set of six of these champagne flutes for $3.00! I got them for my mom because they match her wine glasses perfectly!

Finds 009  Since we don’t have much space to really display things in our house, I decided to use the teapot on the living room table. Just something different, for now.

Busy Being Creative!

Since I like things that are custom, I’ve pretty much spent the past nine months teaching myself how to use a program that is similar to Adobe Photoshop (except the program I use is free) so that a lot of our stuff for the wedding can be exactly how I pictured it in my mind. Plus, it’s saved us a lot of money!

Since I’m still a novice at this kind of stuff and a perfectionist it takes me a long time to do one design; so these projects have definitely not saved on time. Ha! But either way, they’re done and I wanted to show them to you!

The table numbers I designed for each table…

The seating cards I designed for the head table seating assignments…

The dinner menus I designed…

And the rehearsal dinner invite I designed for the wedding party and family (personal and location info omitted for privacy reasons, of course ;) )

I’m pretty proud with how it all turned out. :)

The only thing I have left to do is the seating chart, but that won’t be for another week or so.

I really enjoy doing this and I’m hoping I can do more of this for friends and other occasions once things settle down and life gets back to “normal.” Ha!
