Mish Mosh
*********
My left ovary has been acting a twinge sore today.
*********
What is going on with my left side!?
*********
I am drinking water like a fish today because I have to weigh in tonight at WW and I ate some grody Chinese food last night that has left me with a sense of guilt and disgust.
*********
People at work are irritating me this week to no end. I don't think my vacation can get here fast enough.
*********
Tonight I will be posting a photo of our spare bedroom - AKA my own personal bedroom-sized closet. Clothes and shoes are everywhere! It's pretty embarrassing. But I'm just going to keep it real here, and let you all in on my guilty pleasure of that being the only room in our whole house that is not Type-A-Obsessively-Organized. Shocker; I know.
*********
Kevin made it home in one piece yesterday. After his flat tire and the car almost falling on him the other day, he made his flight, gets to his destination and every. single. rental. car. company. at the airport was out of cars! So he had to wait about two hours until someone returned one before he could get to his hotel that night. So ya, it did get worse for him; but not too much. I'm just glad he's home now.
*********
It really bothers me when someone sends an email and doesn't proof-read it beforehand. My manager does that. I know that she's thinking way faster than she can type and there will be sporadic words interspersed throughout her email that make no sense at all! It's kind of embarrassing when she sends these to clients. But who am I to tell her to brush up on her grammar?
*********
Lately I've been spending time before bed with way too much on my mind. And it's all stuff that is completely out of my control. For example: I think Kevin is going to propose before the end of this year; but I don't know when (obviously). So I'll think about that. Then that leads to when we'll have our wedding. We can't have it in August, September or October of next year because we know people getting married in each of those months. Then I start to think if we can do it sooner than that, but then would my parents be able to pay for all that in such a short amount of time? And what if we waited longer to get married? That would mean we wouldn't have a baby until I was 30 and that just makes me want to start gnawing on my shoulder. See where I'm going here with this? It's ridiculous because we're not even engaged! I need to take a deep breath, count to 10 and put this all in God's hand and trust in Him. But, the uber-control-freak in me must plan everything. Huge flaw. Huge.

TLC is coming out with some interesting shows soon. One is Sister Wives. Not too sure how I feel about this. I'm a big fan of Big Love that's on HBO, but that's kind of pretend and over-dramatic. This Sister Wives show is reality and I'm all for people living their own lives in the manner they want, but I'm not too keen on stepping into said lives because that whole belief disturbs me a little. Just sayin'.

Things Could Be Worse?
Poor guy was on his way to a meeting and the rental car got a flat. So he pulled over, takes the jack out and jacks the car up, proceeds to start to change the tire and the freaking jack just collapses and the car almost crushed Kevin! So now the jack is all bent and doesn't work and he's now waiting for a tow truck. Poor guy really does have the worst luck. But like he said "It could've been worse."

Weekend, flying and GREY hairs -- Oh My!
I've come to the realization that I go through phases with my job. For a couple months I'll really like it and be on a really good roll. Then the next couple months I dread going to work every day and dealing with my co-workers. I wish I could like it all the time. Is that the same for anyone else? Right now I'm in the phase where I'm not liking it. Things are slow and I'm bored, which in turn makes me feel so un-motivated to do anything like filing or stuff I've been putting off. I couldn't be more glad that I have a vacation coming up next week. I think it will be a good trip and I'll come back nice and refreshed.
Kevin's in Utah this week for work. We love spending time together, but it is nice when he leaves for a few days for his work trips because I'm able to have some time to myself, and we always seem to appreciate each other a lot more once he gets back. Every time he travels though, I get a tick nervous. If I let myself, I'll start to imagine all the bad things that could happen. For example, his plane will crash, he'll fall asleep at the wheel while driving, he'll get mugged or he'll oversleep and miss his meetings. Of course I don't want any of these things to ever happen, but I worry when he travels. I usually text him once he lands to make sure he made it okay. Here's a little convo we had of his landing...

I am not a fan of flying, so I wouldn't have been a great passenger in a situation like that. At least he made it safe right? It does nothing for my peace of mind, however. Ha ha!
Anyways, I get a tad freaked out about being by myself at night while he's gone. Not sure why because I used to live by myself for two years out of college, but I think that since we're living in not the greatest and safest of neighborhoods, it puts me a little on edge. So I doubt I'll be getting much sleep the next couple nights while Kevin's gone.
I was plucking my brows this morning and I found a GREY eyebrow hair! Then I realized that I'll be turning 28 in the next few months and I should just come to expect that the GREY hairs will be making an appearance sooner or later. Both my Grandma Ruth and my mom started going GREY early on. I'm talking early 20s for my Grandma Ruth, and early 30s for my mom. Yup...I'm screwed ;)
PS: Do you all spell "grey" with an 'a' or an 'e?' I couldn't decide while writing this post, so I went with the 'e.'

Random Tidbits
*******
I have to wash my feet every night before I get into bed. There is just something about having cool, clean feet right when you crawl into bed that I love!
*******
Good: Kevin made Pad Thai for dinner last night from scratch, and it was scrumptious!
Bad: He said it was way too much work and won't be doing that again. Boo!
*******
I injured my wrist at work two weeks ago while filing documents. I submitted my Worker's Comp claim a couple days ago and was sent to some janky clinic. The doctor who saw me was a complete b-word and I was not satisfied with her "findings" at all. I'm thinking of getting a second opinion. Hmmm...
*******
I have not had a full night's sleep since Sunday evening. It sure is catching up to me today. Because of this, certain other health things have not been going right. I'll spare you the details, though.
*******
I cannot wait for our vacation to Shasta Lake in two weeks, which will include eating, drinking, sunbathing, patio-boating, kayaking, eating, fishing, family time and did I mention eating? Ha!
*******
Everyone and their mother is getting engaged - literally! This includes my 50-something year-old uncle and his girlfriend of 10+ years. Since they met at 7-Eleven, she wants her wedding colors to be green, orange and red. They're wedding date is set for 8-7-11. Hmmm....interesting....
*******
I have no desire, urge or motivation to be productive at work today. However, it seems to me that it's a lot more work to actually look like you're working when in fact, you're not.
*******
The end.

Weekend Wrap Up
Anyhoo! Wanted to give an update on our Labor Day weekend. I seriously felt like I was in the car the whole time. Ha!
Friday: I got off at 11:30, headed home, packed up, and Kahlua and I were off to Salinas to my parents' house. As soon as I got home I freshened up and my mom and I headed off to the Rodeo Office to visit with our ladies there and have a cocktail (or two).
Afterwards, Alison and I went to get some dinner and have some drinks and discuss her engagement! She's getting married next year. Exciting!
Saturday: Slept in! Pretty much stayed in my PJ's until 12, then finally got ready for the day and headed off to San Luis Obispo (SLO) to spend some time with Kevin. He was in SLO for his Fantasy Football Draft (which was on Sunday). Once I got to SLO we stopped at Firestone to have a beer with some friends of ours.
From there we headed to dinner at F. McClintocks.
Afterwards, Kevin and I headed back to our hotel (which was free because Kevin was able to use his points since he travels so much!), took a nap until 9:30 that night, then got up and ready and headed back downtown for some drinks with friends. It was such a fun night!
Sunday: I somehow managed to get up at 9 and ready and hit the road by 10. Once I got back to Salinas Mom and I headed to Gilroy and Morgan Hill to do a little shopping to finish decorating the Airstream (pics will be coming in a separate post). We stopped at this store in Gilroy called Home Goods and oh my word!! I could spend HOURS in that store! They had so many Fall decorations. I somehow contained myself and only got two things, but next time I'm on my way to Salinas, I'm definitely stopping by there again to stock up on some decorations. Great stuff! After five hours of shopping we made it back to Salinas, decorated the Airstream, hottubbed, Dad BBQ'd and I was in bed by 10.
Monday: Had a great night's sleep and headed home. Miraculously there was no traffic whatsoever! So I made it back home in great time. Since I was home by 1, I had a lot of time on my hands (because Kevin was just leaving SLO at this point) so I decided to clean our entire house. I can't remember the last time our house was this clean! I cleaned under the couches, the floorboards, the window sills, all the bathrooms and bedrooms. I started at 2 and didn't finish until 9 that night, so needless to say I was completely exhausted. But I love a clean home and it feels so nice to have that done with. Now this weekend Kevin and I can concentrate on getting the outside areas cleaned up and ready for Fall.
Hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend!! xoxo
