Landon at Seven Months

Landon turned SEVEN months old on Friday, May 1st!

Measurements
Weight: I didn't get a chance to weigh him but I'd guess around 18-19 pounds

Appearance
~Still the same big eyeballs! He get it from his Mama. ;)

~He seems to have more hair than his sister did at this age.
~I feel like he's thinning out some and he looks longer to me.

Sizes
~Nine month clothes
~Size 1 shoes
~Size 4 Honest Co. diapers

Personality
~During his sixth month Landon was pretty fussy. I thought for sure that whole "good baby" phase had ended for good. But it looks like it was just a week-long struggle. Ha! He's back to his happy self again!
~He never cries, except for that week I mentioned above. I think he was just in the process of a mental leap and was trying to figure out life and all the new things he was learning. But for the most part he is a content little guy.

~He's always on the move.
~He's at the age where he gets frustrated that he can't move or get to where he wants to be. He wants to be doing everything his sister is doing, so bad!
~He has started to throw a fit if you take something away from him. Which I secretly like because it's teaching Preslie not to steal toys from him and to share.

Likes
~Landon flips out when you put him in front of the mirror. He goes crazy trying to grab his reflection, and he kicks and reaches and squeals when he's looking at himself.
~Crazy about his big sister.

~He likes to rough house. I know it's probably hard to believe since he's just a baby, but he likes to be thrown up in the air, the free-fall feeling, he likes to roll on the ground with his Papa and "wrestle." He is such a boy!

Dislikes
~When we get home from Miss Kara's house at the end of the day, he usually wants to be held. If I try to put him in his exersaucer or on the ground, he's not having it.

~He's a very easy-going kid so I can't think of what else he dislikes!

Eating
~I think he's finally gotten the hang of the whole eating-baby-food task. He's doing much better with the spoon and the different flavors of vegetables and fruit he gets.
~He eyeballs what we're eating but he doesn't yet know how to eat it!
~On his seven month birthday I gave him Puffs for the first time and he did surprisingly well! He pretty much just sucks them to death, but he's slowly getting the hang of the chewing motion.
~Any other normal food I've tried (like baked potato or avocado) he gags himself. I think it's a texture thing with him right now. It's so hard for me to get used to because at this age Preslie was eating full-on table food and most of what we were eating! Just goes to show that all babies are different!
~He nurses twice a day during the week, and exclusively on the weekends.

Sleeping
~Since Landon is mobile now - as far as rolling over goes - he now sleeps on his tummy, back and sides. Every time I check on him on the monitor he's in a different position!

~Because of this, he was having a tough time getting used to sleeping on his tummy at first. But he's a pro now. ;)
~Still a great sleeper, sleeping from 7pm-7am. Naps are still short.
~Landon talks in his sleep sometimes. I think it's cute. :)

Schedule
~Same schedule as the past couple months.

Milestones
~He's not quite to the point of sitting on his own yet. He'll sit up, but he's pretty unstable and as soon as he leans he topples over.
~He is getting ready to crawl! He's up on all fours and rocks back and forth.
~He's trying out the tummy to sitting position thing. He's not close but I can see he's working on the motions. It's so amazing to me how babies learn these (what seem to us) mundane tasks and the process it takes to achieve them.
~He bangs toys on the ground and table tops. He also slaps his hand on the hardwood floor or table tops.

~He loves to bounce if he's standing on your lap or in his exersaucer.
~He wants to stand all the time! If you're holding his hands he'll go from sitting to standing up pretty much on his own. He seems so much stronger and "sturdier" than Preslie was at this age.
~He grunts and growls.
~He was drooling quite a bit until I put an amber necklace on him. Now it's eased up a lot. I don't see any teeth coming in any time soon.

New Experiences
~Landon helped celebrate his sister's 2nd birthday! He was a good sport through all the celebrating.

~He attended his first bowling party and was awesome. He sat in his stroller for almost an hour just watching all the craziness, and then he was passed around for a bit, and then fell asleep in the Bjorn on me for a quick snooze.

~He enjoyed Bacca and Omi's visit during that particular weekend.

~He celebrated his first Easter! Again, he was a good sport through the hectic, but fun day.

~Landon enjoyed the new little swing Omi and Bacca got the kids!

~He had a lot of trips to the park with Miss Kara and the daycare friends.

~He went to Red Robin with just Mommy and Papa one night and he enjoyed the one-on-one attention. We had to leave pretty quickly toward the end because he was D-O-N-E and wanted to be on the ground rolling around.

~We made a trip to Omi and Bacca's house for a little visit.
~Landon got to experience his first Rivercats baseball game! It was Aunt Judy's 60th birthday and the whole family was able to celebrate up in a few suites. Baby boy loved all the attention from everyone and did great!

This little guy is so much fun! He wakes up smiling and goes to bed smiling. He just makes our life so happy.

Landon at Six Months

Our Little Landon turned six months old on Wednesday, April 1st!

Measurements
Landon had his six month well-check on March 26th.

Weight: 17lbs 8oz (54th percentile) -- He's a big boy!
Height: 27" (73rd percentile) -- He grew two inches in two months!
Head circumference: 17" (70th percentile) -- We have big-headed babies!

Appearance
~His appearance hasn't changed much from last month. His hair seems to be getting darker. Eyes remain a light gray color so I'm pretty sure they'll remain light from here on out.

~His hair stands on-end all the time and it's fuzzy.
~He had a cold this past month and his chunky cheeks get sooo rosy! Poor buddy.
~The back of his head is rounding out ever-so-slowly now that he isn't on his back hardly ever now.

Sizes
~He's in 6-9 month and 9 month clothes.
~Size 1 shoe.
~We'll be moving up to size 4 Honest Co. diapers once he finishes the last of his size 3.

Personality
~Still a happy, go-lucky little guy! He loves to smile and it just melts my dang heart!
~He will throw a hissy fit if he doesn't get his bottle or nurse on time; but he settles down once he gets his milkies.
~We know something really bothers him or he's not feeling well if he is crying. The day he got his shots he was pretty miserable, had a fever and just wanted his Mama. He even took a nap on my chest which he hasn't done since he was a newborn! I totally soaked it up. I had my dinner on the table but it could wait.

~He never stays still! I like to say his theme song is "I like to move it, move it!" So different from Preslie so it's taking some getting used to.

Likes
~Boy loves to nurse! When he knows it's time for some booby he flails his arms, kicks his feet and starts smiling and wiggling. Crazy little guy.
~He's really been enjoying his exersaucer. He likes to be in the standing up position and he loves to bounce.

~Landon seems to enjoy car rides. He doesn't fuss when he's in his carseat and is usually pretty good about napping if we're on long car rides.
~As usual, he thinks his big sis is hilarious.

Dislikes
~He doesn't not like too much.
~Since last month I've been wearing him in the ERGO a lot more and he's gotten used to it now and doesn't fuss in it anymore.

Eating
~Landon's eating of solids has been hit-or-miss. Just within the past couple weeks has he really started looking for the spoon and wanting to eat. Prior to that, he was just "meh" about the whole baby food thing. He's catching on now, though.
~He tried his mesh feeder and was pretty thrilled with it. But boy is it messy!

~One day I thought I'd try mixing some (baby) oatmeal in with his bananas to see if he'd like it better. Not so much. That oatmeal gave the poor guy some bad tummy aches. I felt so bad. We stay away from that oatmeal now.
~So far he has had: bananas, peaches, apples, squash, green beans, peas, carrots and sweet potatoes. He doesn't seem to not like any one thing, but at the same time nothing seems to be his favorite yet.
~Landon nurses or takes a bottle (6-7oz) four times a day.

Sleep
~Little man is currently going through his six month sleep regression. I remember when Preslie did this around the same age. He doesn't want to go to sleep as easily and he wakes up two or three hours earlier than normal. I'm not complaining because 1) He sleeps through the night, and 2) This will pass.
~He still only take a few 45 minute naps throughout the day. I'm lucky if I can get him to take longer than an hour nap on the weekend.

Schedule
~Still on the same schedule as last month and it's still working for him.

Milestones
~He rolls all over the floor in every direction imaginable.

~He pushes up so high when he's on his tummy that he practically lifts himself off the ground.
~He's found his toes and feet.

~Landon is close to holding his own bottle.

New Experiences
Buggy has had a lot of fun, new experiences this past month!
~He went to the zoo for the first time and did a great job just hanging out in the stroller while his sister enjoyed the exhibits. Uncle No No bought him his first baseball cap from the zoo gift shop and he looked so cute in it!

~He flew on an airplane for the first time! He was such a rock star. The flight was only 55 minutes so that helped. He flirted with the people in our row and then took a little snooze on me (which I loved). It was so much easier to fly with a baby than I thought it would be.
~The whole reason for the flight was to visit my BFF Maygan and meet her new baby boy, Patrick. Landon did great staying at their house with me for the weekend. He got to sit and swing in a swing outside for the first time and he got to experience a Mamaroo as well.
Landon and Patrick - fast friends!

Miss Madison helping push the swing.

Cat nap
~Landon was able to celebrate his first St. Patrick's day!

~It was a warm month in March so he was able to wear some cute summer outfits.

~He had three shots on March 26th and poor buddy didn't take them well. He recovered by the next day though.
His feelings about his vaccines.
~We visited Omi and Bacca (my mom and dad) for a few days and he sat in the kiddie pool with Preslie for a few minutes and sunbathed for a second. This was also the first time he's worn swim trunks and...all the baby rolls! Yum!

It's so hard to believe that Landon has been in our lives for half a year already. When he does new things it always comes as such a surprise to me that he is (unfortunately) growing up before our very eyes. It's hard to imagine our life without him!

A Day in the Life...

I did one of these posts almost eight months ago, and I wanted to do another so I can look back and compare how different life is now.

This post won't contain as many pictures as my last "Day in the Life" post because I'm not that on top of things now with two kids. Ha! So I'll just post some random photos of the kids that I have on my phone, instead.

Kevin's job requires him to work really long hours so I take care of most of the kid and home stuff on my own. He helps when he can, though.

4:45-5:30am: Snooze my alarm and then hop in the shower.

5:50: Put my makeup on while I pump.

6:20: Get my lunch bag together, get Landon's bottle bag together, get my pump bag together. So many BAGS!

6:30: Wake Landon up, change him, dress him, feed him a bottle. Put him down in his crib to play or in the swing. If Kevin happens to not have to go into work early, he'll do this.

7:00: Get myself dressed, finish my hair, brush my teeth put ALL THE BAGS in the car. Put the dogs in the garage, get them food and water for the day and turn the space heater on for them (they are spoiled little pups).

7:15: Wake Preslie up. Get her changed, dressed, do her hair and brush her teeth, then take her straight to the car. I turn the car on so it'll warm up, lock the doors, go inside to get Landon and turn on the house alarm.

7:35: On the road to take the kids to Miss Kara's.

8:10: Get to work. Thank goodness my job is super flexible with my schedule.

11:00-11:30: Pump and read.

12:00pm: Eat lunch at my desk.

1:00: Go down to our little workout room in the office building and exercise for about 45min-1hr. Shower and change and back to work at 2:00.

4:00: Leave work and pick up the kids.

4:30/4:45: Get home, unload the car of children and BAGS. Get things settled in the house and immediately change out of my work clothes into comfy clothes. Get Preslie a snack.

5:00: Feed the dogs and nurse Landon.

5:45: Start dinner if I'm cooking. Otherwise, Kevin will make dinner or we do leftovers.

6:00: Preslie eats, or waits until our dinner is done to eat. Kevin gets home.

6:45: Kids get a bath. Kevin will usually bathe them while I get the kids' jammies out and diaper bag ready for the next day. I'll get Landon ready for bed, nurse him and put him down. Kevin will get Preslie ready for bed, read to her and put her down. After, Kevin will usually clean the kitchen.

8:00-9:30: Race to get something done before I have to go to bed. Whether it be a load of laundry, bills, write a blog post, clean a bathroom, unpack from a trip the weekend before. There's always something that needs to be done. Wash Landon's bottles and fill them for the next day. Make Landon's baby food for the next day. Get ALL THE BAGS together for the next day.

9:30: Pump and read.

10:00: Bed (if I'm lucky) and start all over the next day.

THE END.

Landon at Five Months

This post is waaay late...

Landon turned five months old on Sunday, March 1st.

Measurements
I have no clue what he weighs. He feels heavy to me and he seems to be going through a growth spurt at the moment (back in the beginning of March), so if I were to guess I'd say probably 16 pounds?
He has his next well-check appointment on the 26th so I'll know for certain then.

Appearance
~His hair is growing but is very fine like Preslie's was/is.
~Light gray eyes but they're getting some green in them.

~He gets really pink cheeks when he nurses.

~The back of his head is kind of flat. He spends most of his time on his tummy, but he sleeps flat on his back at night and during naps and it's not helping matters. Hopefully, it'll round out as he gets older.

Sizes
~He's just about outgrown his six month clothes. Six month pants are getting snug around his belly and kind of short. Some of his six month jammies are getting too small. He's definitely out of 3-6 month clothes. I'll be moving him up to 6-9 month and nine month clothes soon!
 ^ Love that booty!

~Still size three Honest Co. diapers.
~Size NB/0 shoes.

Personality
~He loves to laugh! He will laugh at anyone and anything and I LOVE it!

~He is a big flirt.
~He very rarely cries at all.
~He's started to throw little fits if something is taken away from him; like his Sophie. Yikes!
~He gets easily distracted while he eats or nurses. Kind of frustrating, but it comes with starting to be aware more of things around him. Sometimes, I need to nurse him in his room with the sound machine on so I can get him to focus. Ha!
~The kid never stops moving!

Likes
~He loves his Sophie and gnaws on it all the time.

~He loves to roll over! He's always doing it. I don't like it so much because it means he's growing up, and he also spits up whenever he's on his tummy.
~He idolizes his sister!

Dislikes
~There's not much he dislikes. He's a pretty laid back baby.
~He sometimes doesn't like to be worn in the ERGO, but we're working on it.

Eating
~He just tried his first solid (rice cereal) right before he turned five months. He wasn't all that thrilled with it. He didn't hate it, but I don't think he really cared either way. He ate it all but it seemed like he was kind of "meh" about it. His sister was all about food at his age, so it's a little different this time around. I may not focus so much on pureed baby food if he doesn't seem to care for it and may lean more towards baby-led weaning if it works better for him.

~He takes anywhere between 6-7 ounces by breast or bottle four times a day. Sometimes he "snacks" (nurses) at 5pm.
~So far he's had rice cereal, breast milk and pears.

Sleep
~He's been sleeping great. Landon's been waking up sometimes around 5:30am some mornings, but he'll usually talk himself back to sleep.

~He still likes to take short naps. It's rare if he takes over an hour-long nap.

Schedule
~His schedule has changed this month. He seems to be doing a lot better with this schedule than the last schedule.

7am: Wakes up and gets a bottle or nurses
8am: Baby food
9am: Nap
11am: Bottle or nurses
12pm: Baby food
1pm: Nap
3pm: Bottle
5pm: Nurses (if it's a week day, if it's the weekend he'll get baby food)
6:30pm: Bath
7pm: Bottle or nurses
7:30pm: Bed

Milestones
~Landon started rolling over from his back to his tummy at 4 1/2 months and he does it non-stop.
~He's discovered his tongue and blows raspberries. Spit everywhere! It's real fun when he's drinking a bottle. Ha!
~When he's on his tummy he pulls his legs up underneath him, so I have a feeling crawling will be coming in the next couple months.

~He will mimic us if we shake our head side-to-side like we're saying "No." It's so cute!
~He's strong enough with his core body strength that he can be held on your hip which is so convenient.
~He reaches for our faces when we talk to him. Love his little hands!
~He sits in a highchair now.

New Experiences
~We've started putting Landon in his exersaucer. He's not quite strong enough to hold himself up all the way so he's in it for short periods of time for now.

~He attended his first Superbowl party! He wasn't a fan of all the loud cheering.
~He got pink eye this month - ugh! Miraculously no one else in our house got it, thank goodness! We were able to catch it on the first day and get drops right away so the symptoms of it only lasted a day.

~He went to Miss Kara's full time this month since Mama went back to work (on February 9th). He's been doing great there and all the kids love him.
~Landon got to celebrate his first Valentine's Day!

~He went to the Sacramento Train Museum and got to meet his cousin Carter, Cindy, Les and his great aunts Judy and Cindy.

~Landon experienced his first full weekend away from Mama. Papa took such good care of him (and his sister) while I was gone. It was nice to get away but much nicer to get back to my babies!

Every day our little boy is changing and he is so much fun! He's such a joy in our lives.
