Wedding Photos: Part I

November 8, 2011

I’m feeling very thankful for my job today. I’ve moved up somewhat in this company I work for and since I’ve taken on some new responsibilities I’m finally feeling really comfortable with what I do. It’s nice to be confidant in what you do. I hope to stay with my company as long as I can. I don’t really talk about my job a whole lot, and when I do it’s mostly to complain (unfortunately), but I am very thankful for it. I’m lucky to have such a great job.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I realized a few days ago that I haven’t posted some of my favorite pictures that our great photographers took on our wedding day. I’ll probably split this up some over the next few days because I have lots of favorites. Today will be the bridal portraits and photos of my girls. Enjoy!
Let's play with makeup!!!
November 7, 2011
Today I am thankful for makeup! I love, love, love makeup. And I'll be the first to admit that I wear a lot of it. Not so much that it's caked on, but I like to make up my eyes a lot, I like to wear blush and I must wear a darker-colored lip gloss. However, I'm not opposed to going natural; on weekends I'll usually not wear any makeup.
I was a ballet dancer from the age of six until I was 18. During that time I was in a lot of performances and the dance studio I was a part of would give classes on how to apply your stage makeup. I think that's what got me started with my makeup obsession.
Most of what is in my makeup bag at the moment is bareMinerals. I do like this makeup - mostly to use as my foundation, blush and concealer. However, I'm thinking of switching to MAC products when it comes to eye makeup. I find MAC just lasts longer than bareMinerals when it comes to eye shadows and creams.
I will tell you one thing though: makeup is expensive! I have a running list on my phone of makeup products I'd like to have at some point, but I'll definitely have to spread out the purchases because I just can't justify getting the stuff all at once (and I'm sure Kevin would not understand my need to purchase ALL THE THINGS).
One of my dream jobs is to do people's makeup. But considering I am not willing to go back to any type of school again to become a professional at that, I just watch how-to videos on YouTube. One great YouTube channel I found recently with awesome makeup tips is Kandee Johnson. Love her!
And here are some of my favorite eye makeup looks right now...
ZZZZZzzzz....
November 6, 2011
I am thankful for weekends with nothing to do. Mostly because that means S-L-E-E-P. I think I'm like most in that I love my sleep and I can get the most of my sleep on the weekends when I have nothing going on. It feels oh. so. good! And it most definitely doesn't hurt that Daylight Savings ended and we gained an hour. Thank you sweet, baby Jesus!
Carry on,
Books
November 5, 2011
This is more like a two-part of thanks. I'm thankful that I love to read and I'm thankful for books! I pretty much read anything: mystery, biography, fiction, non-fiction, romance. You name it, as long as there are words I will read it. Except self-help books. I'm not really big on those for some reason.
Anyways, I just recently finished "The Host" by Stephenie Meyer. Yes, I was a Twihard and read the Twilight series multiple times but for some reason it took me a while to get around to reading this other novel she wrote. Let me just tell you: it was amazing! It actually took a bit of time for me to get into it at first, but once I was in - I was sucked in.
Question for you: Do any of ya'll get super attached to the characters in the books you read and the story lines? Because when I read a book and it starts getting really good (and that's normally towards the end) I start thinking about the book constantly. And then when I'm about five chapters away from finishing the book I won't pick it up for a good three days or so because I just don't want the story to end and I don't want to stop reading about the characters. Am I the only one who gets like this? If so, I'm pretty sure I need some serious help.
By the way...on my wish list for Christmas this year, I've asked my parents for the Kindle Fire. I have been super anti-Kindle-iPad-etc. because I love the feel of the books and I like collecting them on our bookshelf and seeing all that I've read. But with my commute and my insanely heavy purse/briefcase that I have to lug each way the weight of the books are just getting to be a bit much. So I'm thinking the Kindle Fire will be a good solution for that.
Peace out homies!
Breanna's Beautiful Day!
November 4, 2011
Today I am so very thankful for my dogs! I know, they are just dogs, but they're like our children. I got Kahlua when I graduated from college in 2005. Granted, I paid an arm and a leg for her, but she was my perfect little companion - and still is. When Kevin and I broke up for about nine months a few years ago, she was right there by my side and it was nice to have her around for company. Then when Stella showed up on our doorstep (literally) she wasn't something we expected, but she's been so much fun to have around. Kevin calls her a "Fruit Cake" because she is just so darn goofy! Love our pups!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of being a part of my friend, Breanna's, wedding. The wedding was beautiful. It suited her and her new hubby (who's name also happens to be Kevin) so perfectly. She had really great ideas that she used throughout her wedding.

One that I loved was she used succulents as the favors and place cards holders. Now that is a favor I would take home!

How cute are these!?
Her colors were gray and purple. She let us bridesmaids pick out our own dress as long as they were gray, strapless and came to around our knees. I thought that all of our dresses coordinated so well! It was neat because each of us had a dress that fit our personality. She also made each of us a wire hanger that had our name on it. :)

Speaking of dresses...Breanna's dress was gorgeous and unique!

And of course, she made a gorgeous bride!

And how awesome were her shoes!?!?!

And you know what else was a big plus about her wedding? We got to sit at a table with friends from high school. It was so great to catch up with them all, and I was really glad Kevin was able to meet friends of mine that he hadn't met yet.

Michelle and her hubby - with their twins! The girls did so good throughout the entire wedding; they hardly made a peep. I love how they're sleeping the same way!

Photo op with the happy couple.

Rachel (a friend from high school and also a bridesmaid in the wedding) with her sweet little girl, Avery. Avery was tuckered out from her Flower Girl duties!
And here are some photos from the photographer's website. I love how they turned out!

I love, love!

Some stuff and selling some wedding items

November 3, 2011
Today I am thankful for BART. This is something I constantly struggle to be thankful for because it's not the most glamorous or fun thing to take to and from work each day, but I am thankful for it nonetheless. Without it I'd have to endure the wear and tear on my car, pay for gas and parking. Instead, I get two hours each day to catch up on blogs, emails, Twitter, Facebook and read. I don't have to deal with traffic, parking, polluting the air or bad weather. So it's a rather good thing. :)

I have some things I feel like talking about on this fine Thursday...

  • When I first started blogging my goal was to post every day, maybe sometimes even twice a day if I was feeling ambitious. And it was also to get a lot of readers. Almost two years later, my feelings on that have changed somewhat. I've decided that this blog will be about me and my family, and not about how often I post or how many readers I have and if I do giveaways or if I have sponsors (not that there's anything wrong with that - and I may do a giveaway again in the future because they're always fun :) ). For one, that's just too much pressure for me, and two, I want this blogging experience to remain something I look forward to; not something that feels like a chore. I also don't want to look back on things five or ten years down the road and feel like something I posted about was forced. Know what I mean? So I blog for me now (and also for the sweet friends I've met along my blogging journey), and it feels gee-double-oh-dee GOOD! :)

  • I really wish I could write about what's going on in our life right now, but it's just not the right time. I may have to write it in my private blog so I don't forget about this time and I can post it later when I'm able to. I do have a private blog, by the way. It's only for me, myself and I. It's just things I jot down that I want to be sure to document that I can't share at the moment, but maybe some day I'll be able to. Gosh that's vague. Ha!

  • This year I was stoked that I didn't have to figure out a picture situation for our Christmas card. Luckily, we have a ton of photos from our wedding to choose from! Since I don't have a wedding to plan for anymore I was able to take some time while at work and go through the holiday cards on Erin Condren's site and I found the perfect one! I can't wait until they come in and I can send them out. They were more than I wanted to spend but I was able to get a discount (once again) so it worked out fine. Plus, they come with envelopes and a return label, so it was actually a great deal.

  • We are having a garage sale this weekend. Finally we can get this crap out of our house! We spent all last weekend going through and organizing everything. It felt good, but it'll feel even better once everything is gone. The weather calls for rain on Friday and Sunday so I'm afraid we may have to postpone if the weather decides to not cooperate. It'll happen sooner or later though; I'm determined. Oh, and I doubt anyone reading this lives in my area (the Bay Area of California) but if you do, send me an email if you want to come and take a look at what we're selling.

Speaking of selling: I am selling these pomanders I made and used in our wedding...

There are 14 of them and I'm selling them for $8.00 each, plus shipping. As you can see, they're red roses (fake but they look real), black satin ribbon, a chain of plastic crystals and there is also a crystal in each rose bud (you can't tell in this photo, but they're pretty). I got a lot of compliments on these on our wedding day. Some people even tried to take some! Ha! I have a PayPal account so I can accept credit cards as well. If you're interested, email me at chasersofkaysersblog [at] yahoo [dot] com and I can give you more info about sizes and so forth.

I'm also selling these damask runners...

These are the only photos I have of them at the moment, but I think you get the idea. I don't know the sizes but if you email I can get you that info. I think I have 16 of them. I'm selling them for $5.00 each plus shipping. The black design on each runner is like some type of soft velvety material. It feels nice. :)

XOXO~

Thanks

I've seen this on a couple blogs recently and I like the thought of it. So I'm going to partake.

Each day of November I'm going to list something I'm thankful for. I'm one of those people that can tend to focus on the negative and I need to realize how fortunate I/we have been. Plus, I'm going to want to look back on this later on down the road.

So here goes...

November 1, 2011
I'm totally thankful that we have money. It may not be a lot of it, and it may only be enough to pay the bills each month and maybe do something fun like go out to eat or to the movies, but it works for us. Of course, it would be nice to have a lot little more, but I'm thankful we have any money at all.

November 2, 2011
I might as well just get the mushy stuff out of the way now. ;) I'm so so thankful for Kevin. He is the most patient person when it comes to me. I tend to snap at him sometimes and he just lets it roll right off his back. I tend to overreact sometimes and he just lets me have my moment, and he'll make me laugh in the next. I tend to talk about how much I want a baby all the time sometimes and he just smiles and nods. So I'm eternally grateful God chose a great husband for me.

The end.
