T.G.I.F....the 13th???

Someone had to point out to me today that it's Friday the 13th. I honestly don't think I would've realized it on my own all day long! Haha! It's been a busy month I tell ya'!

This will be yet another random post. I think towards the end of a week I like to reflect on a lot of things I think about, and random stuff that pops into my head so you all get the joy of reading about it. Lucky you! ;)

Anyways, Kevin and I are heading up to his hometown this weekend to attend one of his good friends' wedding. A little bit ago I listed some dress options I was considering from Forever.21. When I went there this past Sunday I only saw one of them there and it was the black strapless one. I tried it on and it was actually really comfortable and fit just right! So I was pleased, but it's really not a dress for a wedding (in my opinion) so I put it back. I did however find a great dress and it has RUFFLES! My fave! It's very comfortable and I like the color because it's not something I would normally wear. The color is kind of like a dark aqua color; I don't really know how to describe it. I'm wearing tan/nude color heels and gold jewelry. I got this really cool gold, chunky ring that I'm excited to wear. I don't usually wear rings but I decided I'd give it a try ;) I'll be sure to post some pictures after this weekend. Oh! And when I was shopping at Forever.21 last weekend I noticed that they have an extended sizes section for plus sizes. I thought this was really great because not all women are built the same or the "average" sizes. A lot of women are curvier or what have you, than others. The section offered a lot of clothes and it was nice to see girls in there shopping and feeling comfortable that they were able to do so. Props to Forever.21 for that!!

You know what? I tend to fall a lot. Well, not exactly fall, but trip and fall. I'll just be walking along and my heel will slip or something and down I go. And of course it happens when there's a lot of people around. I think I just get distracted with my daydreaming and then it happens. When I'm walking in front of a car at a crosswalk, or in front of a lot of people in a public place I'm always telling myself "Please don't fall Kaysie. Please don't fall Kaysie." Haha! I also make sure to walk extra careful. More often than not I fall going UP stairs or escalators. It takes real skill to do that; let me tell you! One time my friend Maygan and I were in Vegas and we just got done shopping at the shops in Caesar's and I bought a pair of Jessica Simpson shoes. So we're leaving and walking up a set of stairs and I trip and fall and my shoe box made the LOUDEST noise ever when it hit the stairs along with me. Maygan and I still laugh about that to this day. I think you had to be there...

My manager is NOT in a very good mood today. Eeek! It sure makes it hard to stay positive and upbeat during the day *ugh*.

I hope you all have a great weekend. I'm looking forward to laying out by a pool tomorrow to get my tan on before the wedding!

Dreaming Like Crazy!

I have been having the most bizarre dreams this week. I don't know what's up! I had one dream about a friend that I haven't talked to in a while, then I had a different dream on another night about these two sisters that I went to church and school with when I was younger (and who I haven't seen or talked to in years!) that they both died and I had to call their mother and tell her what happened. How horrible is that? Then I had a dream on another night about one of the blogs that I read who recently lost her baby and that I visited him in the hospital. It was just strange.

These are the type of dreams that as you're dreaming them, you tell yourself you should wake up because they're not particularly good dreams. Then you keep thinking about them for the rest of the day - or in my case, the entire week.

So I'm not sure why I'm having these crazy dreams this week, but they're quite disturbing.

On another note, we're going to a wedding this weekend and I'm pretty excited about it because I found a cute dress from Forever 21 and I can get all gussied up. I'll be sure to post pictures after the weekend. I'm still trying to post about our weekend in Donner two weeks ago! My computer isn't letting me upload the photos for some reason, so I'm still trying.

Hope your Thursday goes by quick so Friday comes soon and you can enjoy your weekend! :)

On my mind....

This has been on my mind and I can't seem to shake it. Usually if something is bothering me I can go to bed at night and not feel so bothered the next morning when I wake up, but not this time.

I know that as we get older friendships change. Best friends in high school may not be your best friends now, you may make friends with people now who you weren't that close to in high school, you gain new friends while in college who may become your best friends for life. I get that, and I understand that it happens. What's bothering me now is that I'd like to stay in close touch and maintain a close friendship with a good friend of mine from my childhood. We've known each other since we were six and it seems to be more challenging as each year goes by and it makes me sad.

Both of us are extremely busy with our own separate lives, and we don't live in the same town, which makes it difficult. But we can't even seem to talk on the phone more than once or twice a year. How sad is that? I want to be a part of her life and the fun things she does with her husband and other couples because I enjoy them all tremendously. But I'm getting the feeling that I'm definitely not the first person to pop in her mind to ask me to come along and see if I'd like to join them.

I know friendships go both ways, and if I'm ever doing something fun, or Kevin and I are up to something and in town, I definitely try to make a point to let her know, but again, the busy schedules get in the way.

I don't know if I'm being overly sensitive to this or what. I hate to say it, but I kind of get my feelings hurt a little bit when I see these fun things that I would love to do with them. Obviously, I'm not going to invite myself. Haha! I'm not a party crasher ;) and I know that there's limitations for whatever event may be going such as the number of people who are there, or what-not. But I'm still kind of sensitive about the whole thing.

Part of me thinks that maybe this is just one of those friendships that is changing and I should let go and let it be, but the other part of me feels like I should try harder and maybe make more of an effort on my part. But, like I said, it goes both ways. Me putting all this effort into a friendship and not getting anything in return makes for a one-sided friendship; dontchathink?

*sigh* I don't know. This one particular friendship seems to be slipping away, but I also feel like other friendships I have are slipping away too. Sometimes it's unavoidable because people get married, have kids or move away and things change. But it's still a little hard for me to come to terms with all of this.

Sisterly "love"

As I've mentioned before, my parents got a new pup and her name is Hattie. She's a Jack Russell Terrier just like their other dog, Cleo. At first Cleo was not a fan of her new sister, but now they always play tug-of-war with their toys. They do this all. day. long!

Sicky Saturday

Seems like I'm coming down with a cold :( I swear I get these little colds at least every other month. I'm not too sure why because I take my vitamins every day. Oh well. I'm sure I'll get over it in a couple days. Normally I'm not too bummed when I get a little sick because it means I can take a day off work and rest at home. But right now work is so busy, and I'm saving up my PTO for some things coming up, that I don't have time in my life to get a cold. Either way, I'm still thankful for my health because it could be worse.

By the way, did any of you ever read that book when you were little: Could Be Worse? That was one of my most favorite books as a child. My parents would read it to my brother and me every night before bed and every time the saying "could be worse" came up, my brother and I would say it out loud together. Haha!

Anyways, I'm in Salinas for the weekend visiting my family - and also so I can make a day trip to SLO tomorrow to get my hair done. Tonight my Grandma Ruth is coming over for spaghetti. Yum! She's also going to see my parent's new puppy, Hattie, for the first time. Hattie is so cute! Kahlua is NOT a fan of her though. She bares her teeth at Hattie and snaps and growls at her. I seriously think we need the Dog Whisperer because Kahlua does not get along with other dogs and it makes me a little sad inside. My parent's other dog, Cleo, and Hattie get along pretty well together. They play tug-of-war together and it's so cute. I'll post a video up in a couple days.

Hope you all are having a nice weekend. Stay safe and healthy! ;)

Flashback Friday

This weekend, last year, Kevin and I attended one of his co-worker's wedding in San Luis Obispo (SLO). It was great because Kevin and I both graduated from Cal Poly SLO, so we were able to spend time with friends who are still there and stop in at some of our old hangouts. I also cut all my hair off that weekend. I had pretty long hair, but was ready for a change at that time so I had the hairdresser cut off about six or eight inches. It was quite drastic, especially a few hours before attending a wedding! Ha! I liked it for a time, but a few days afterwards I already missed my long hair. Ironically enough, I'm going back to SLO this Sunday to see my very favorite hair dresser (a different one from last time) so she can give me a really good 'do! (no shortness this time, though).

Chelsea (Kevin's co-worker) was a beautiful bride! Her colors were yellow and grey. It was very unique, but the way they decorated the location was adorable and very chic!

I love this picture of them!

Greg, the groom, was very excited to have such a pretty bride ;)

I told you my hair was short! I've also lost about 12 pounds since this picture...

Kevin basking in the sunlight with a quaint umbrella ;) These were some of the wedding favors. Cute idea!

Kevin's other co-worker, Kaitlyn, and her boyfriend Jeff. These two are a hoot!! Btw, you should really check out Kaitlyn's new blog. I think it's going to become very popular - she has great cooking tips and ideas. Yum!

Whew!

I think this is the longest I've gone without posting! I'm just now recovering from our mini-vacay from the weekend. We had a GREAT time and it was so nice to relax and be under the sun out on the water. I have pictures and video to post from our trip, so hopefully I can get around to doing that tonight.

This is going to be another random post. Sometimes random posts are fun to read (at least for me)!

1) Kevin is going to get me an iPhone 4!! I'm so excited! I think I'll get it at the end of this month. My poor iPhone I have now is the original and it's on it's last leg.

2) I got a speeding ticket on Tuesday night. It was my first one EVER! Luckily, I didn't cry when I got pulled over. I always thought I would, but I didn't. Whew! The CHP was nice enough - he was also cute! Haha! But he still gave me a ticket. He caught me as I was coming down a hill so my speed was up a little more than usual, and he said I was going 82 in a 65. So it looks like I'll be paying a fine and doing traffic school. Ugh! Oh well, I knew I was going too fast and as soon as he pulled away from the side of the road I knew he was coming for me. Lesson learned!

3) This morning on the train this man sat beside me and he smelled like bad breath and old coffee. *gag!* I can understand that not everyone is perfect and can smell good all the time, but I think he could've at least brushed his teeth before walking out of his house, or put some gum in his mouth *sigh*. I survived though and was very happy to get off at my stop. Ha! I also don't understand how some wives can let their husbands leave the house in certain outfits or with certain hairstyles. Granted, some of these men are older and their wives are probably beyond the point of helping them, but if Kevin tries to wear a brown belt with black shoes, or stripes with plaid, I make him change before he walks out our front door. It'll just save him from somebody making a comment to him at work. He has told me that the girls at work have told him he dresses nice - THANKS TO ME! :)

4) Kevin will probably kill me for posting this, but he just emailed me this just now:
"Well I had a dream last night that I kinda forgot about until now but I thought I would tell you… I dreamt that we had a baby girl and when I was holding her you started crying because you know that the second I held her I fell in love with her. And then the dream got crazy and we were in some speeding car and I was trying to protect the baby and the rest is kinda blurry from there.

But I know how you like that stuff so I thought I would share it with you."

Bless his heart! I tend to talk about wanting to have a baby ALL. THE. TIME. to him, so it's no wonder he had a dream about it. But that just melts my heart because I know he'll be an awesome dad once we finally have a baby. When I see him with our dog (who is pretty much our child) I get so excited because he loves our dog so much. As a matter of fact, I have a video I'll post sometime of Kevin playing with Kahlua. It's pretty ridiculous, but cute!

5) I had to drive out to a property yesterday to take some pictures of it for work and this property was out in the boonies! It took me over an hour to drive 10 miles because the roads were so windy and steep. Once I got out there it was like I was at a scene of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. No blood and gore; don't worry. It was more just a bunch of junk in yards, and abandoned buses and cars. Creepy! I took my pictures and got the heck out of there ASAP because I didn't want anyone coming out with a shotgun!

And I think that pretty much covers the past few days for me. Hopefully I'll have more interesting stuff to blog about, but it's summer time and things are slow. I hope everyone is enjoying their Thursday! Only one more day and it's the weekend again! :)
